Bromo Mountain

Mount Bromo is not only famous for its natural beauty but also for its rich cultural tourism. The mountain is home to the Tenggerese people, an indigenous community who have preserved their Hindu traditions for centuries. Every year, they hold the Yadnya Kasada ceremony at the crater of Bromo, where offerings are thrown into the volcano as a form of gratitude and prayer.

The local people, known as the Tengger tribe, live in villages around the area and mainly work as farmers, horse handlers, jeep drivers, and tourism service providers. Tourism plays an important role in supporting their economy while they continue to maintain their traditional customs, language, and religious practices. This combination of stunning landscapes and strong cultural heritage makes Bromo a unique destination for cultural and nature tourism.
